About us
The Koscove family’s commitment to recycling began in 1917, when Isaac Koscove started recycling glass, tires, and used rags. In the mid-1930s, his sons, Morris and Sol Koscove, expanded the family business into metal recycling and automobile parts sales in downtown Colorado Springs. Today, this longstanding tradition continues through Koscove Metal, a fourth-generation, family-owned recycling business dedicated to carrying forward a legacy of resourcefulness, sustainability, and responsible reuse.
In 2003, Joe Koscove became the sole owner of Koscove Metal, continuing his family’s longstanding legacy while expanding the company’s impact beyond traditional business success. Joe has dedicated his time and expertise to supporting the Colorado Springs Police Department in cases involving metals and metal theft. Whether serving as an expert witness in court or assisting detectives with investigations. He is committed to helping protect the community and uphold the law. Above all, Joe takes the greatest pride in his involvement with charitable causes. Driven by a genuine passion for helping others, he believes that success is measured not only by business accomplishments, but also by the positive difference one makes in the lives of others. As Joe has expressed, “I want to do whatever I can as a man and a human being to help our planet and the human race.”
Koscove Metal has grown into much more than a scrap metal recycling company. At its heart, we are a family-oriented business where employees and customers are treated with respect, honesty, and care. Our motto, “Honest Business Equals Better Business,” reflects the values that have guided us for generations. We are committed not only to protecting the environment through responsible recycling, one aluminum can at a time, but also to ensuring our customers receive the most competitive and fairest prices possible. For us, success means more than recycling materials. It means building lasting relationships, supporting our community, and making a meaningful difference for both people and the planet.
